Services

Three services, each built around a specific kind of situation

Hinata doesn't offer a general consulting retainer. Each service is scoped around a specific moment in a firm's life — so you can choose based on what's actually in front of you.

How to choose

What each service is designed for

Each of the three services below was built around a pattern that kept appearing: owners with a specific kind of need that didn't fit anywhere obvious. An advisory session for the matters currently on the desk. A digital review for firms whose online presence doesn't reflect their actual standing. A succession workshop for the transition that everyone knows is coming but nobody has sat down to work through properly.

If you're not sure which fits your situation, the initial conversation will help clarify that — and if none of them seem right, that's said plainly.

Small Business Advisory Session

Service 01 · Half-day session

Small Business Advisory Session

¥24,000 JPY

Fixed fee · includes preparation review, written notes, and four-week follow-up call

For owners of firms under twenty staff, structured around the two or three matters currently occupying their attention. This is not a business review — it's a focused conversation about what's on the desk right now.

Suited to founders and owners who don't have a board or a partner to think alongside. Preparation involves a short written summary from you and a review of any figures you'd like to discuss. The session runs at your pace, with space to think through things that haven't fully formed yet.

What's included

  • Preparation review before the session (your summary and any figures shared)
  • Half-day session structured around your priorities
  • Written notes with agreed next steps, circulated after the session
  • Follow-up conversation four weeks later, included in the fee

Digital Presence Consultation

Service 02 · Three-week review

Digital Presence Consultation

¥28,000 JPY

Fixed fee · includes inventory, corrections list, and prioritised adjustment plan

A review of how your firm appears to prospective customers online — covering website structure and clarity, search visibility for the terms customers actually use, review platform presence, and the practical effort behind maintaining each channel.

Intended for established firms whose reputation locally exceeds their visibility online. The output is a prioritised list of adjustments with realistic time estimates for internal staff — not a redesign proposal or a technical audit, but a practical guide to what would make a meaningful difference.

What's included

  • Inventory of every place the business currently appears online
  • Corrections needed to inconsistent or incomplete listings
  • Prioritised list of adjustments with realistic time estimates
  • A brief call at the end of the three weeks to walk through findings

Succession and Handover Workshop

Service 03 · Two-day workshop

Succession and Handover Workshop

¥41,000 JPY

Fixed fee · includes preparatory conversations, two-day workshop, written framework, and six-month review

A two-day facilitated workshop for owner and successor together, working through responsibilities, decision authority, customer and supplier relationships held personally, and the practical order in which each should transfer.

Delivered on site with structured exercises and periods of open discussion. Appropriate for family firms and small partnerships where the transition has been recognised but not yet worked through in a structured way. Preparatory conversations with each party separately are included — this matters, because the workshop is less useful without them.

What's included

  • Preparatory conversations with owner and successor separately
  • Two-day on-site workshop with structured exercises and open discussion
  • Written handover framework produced during the workshop
  • Review session scheduled six months after the workshop

Finding the right fit

Some situations that tend to point toward each service

Consider the advisory session if…

  • There are one or two specific questions that have been sitting unresolved for a while.
  • You don't have anyone useful to think alongside at the moment.
  • A decision needs to be made in the next few months and you want to think it through properly before committing.
  • You've been through something that changed the direction of the firm and haven't properly taken stock of what that means.

Consider the digital review if…

  • Customers who know you would describe you very differently from how you appear online.
  • You're unsure whether people searching for what you offer can find you.
  • The website hasn't been updated in a while and you're not sure where to start.
  • You're getting enquiries from the wrong kind of customer or not enough enquiries at all.

Consider the succession workshop if…

  • A handover has been discussed but never worked through in a structured way.
  • There are relationships with key customers or suppliers that are held personally and need to be transferred.
  • Owner and successor have different views on how quickly things should move.
  • The transition has a deadline — retirement, health, external event — that makes clarity more urgent.

Not sure which applies

It's fine to send a message without having decided

Most owners who get in touch haven't yet decided which service fits their situation — they know something is worth thinking through, but not which of the three would be most useful. That's exactly what the initial call is for.

Send a message with a line about what you're working on. The call that follows will help clarify which service — if any — makes sense. There's no obligation and no pressure toward a particular option.
